Mitsuba’s TechnologyTECHNOLOGY

Mitsuba is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of both plastic and rubber extruders.
In recent years, product functionality has improved and non-universal materials have increased, but with many years of experience working with both plastic and rubber extruders, Mitsuba can handle a wide variety of extrusion materials.

Our design team is divided into two sections: the design of extruder and ancillary equipment, and the design of wiring and electrical control. Unlike “mass production,” in which a large number of products are produced from a single drawing, more than 100 drawings are required for a single machine, and this design team supports our “complete build-to-order” production system.
In examining machine specifications, we are subject to various constraints such as the customer’s production plan, factory layout, and flow lines. Based on these constraints, we combine our past experience and know-how with new technologies to create a machine that meets the customer’s needs.

One component that greatly affects the performance of an extruder is the screw that agitates the material in the cylinder. It is one of the most important parts that determine the quality of rubber and resin extruded products. We have compiled a database of the correlation between screw shape, material, and productivity based on a large amount of experimental data, and can propose the optimum screw shape to our customers.

Since we also design and manufacture ancillary equipment other than extruders in-house, we are able to propose a line of equipment that meets the customer’s specifications from our many product lines.
In addition to extruders and ancillary equipment, we also design software and electrical systems in-house. By integrating machine and software design, we can flexibly respond to requests for automation, recipe creation, IoT, and safety measures.
Mitsuba offers a variety of production equipment as a system to support your business.

Furthermore, we are not satisfied with the existing technology, but are also focusing on the development of next-generation extruders, such as high-output resin extruders, which have become mainstream worldwide, and supercritical foam extruders capable of micro-foaming.
